Hi all!
What a month!! It's been soooo HOT!! The dogs have been fine in their lovely cool kennels.
Lots to report especially regarding the Great “Northern” Greyhound Gathering that took place on 13th June. It was a
wonderful day with lots of hounds lazing around under the trees. It was lovely to see!! Thanks so much to our special
friends at Greyhounds in Need who organised the day with us. It is always a pleasure and great fun when we get together.
Hopefully next year we will have a dog show too so watch this space!! The PAT dogs (Pets as Therapy) had a great deal of
interest and if you think you may have a hound or any breed of dog that loves being with people and is calm and steady
around humans then come and see them at the port sunlight fair on 26th July and see if your 4 legged friend is a likely
candidate!!
The Alsager Carnival was a great success with many homing enquiries which was wonderful.
Our future July events are as follows
Saturday 11th July 2009 - Nantwich Family Fun Day, Barony Park, Nantwich - 10am till 5pm.
Sunday 12th July 2009 - Dogs Trust Merseyside Family Fun Day, Huyton Liverpool, L36 6HP. 12-4pm
Sunday 26th July 2009 - Port Sunlight Village Festival - 10.30 onwards
Saturday 1st August 09 - Meet and greet in Nantwich town centre - 11.00 till 3.30 -
Gathering at High Street, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 5AS
We are just celebrating re-homing our 150th dog since the branch opened in January 08. As with any rescue centre, dogs
do come back in after being re-homed as the placement has not worked out for a variety of reasons. Fortunately, they do
find new homes but we do not count this 2nd re-homing into our figures (which often happens). This means we have
successfully placed and re-homed 150 individual dogs into permanent forever homes!!
If anybody would like to help with our events, walk the gorgeous hounds or become a volunteer please feel free to call Jan
