Welcome to the website of the North West Retired Greyhound Trust. Our aim is to re home as
many retired racing greyhounds as possible and to raise people's awareness of this very gentle
and loving breed. We cover the whole North West area such as North Wales, Chester, Crewe,
Wirral, Merseyside, Manchester, Cheshire and surrounds.
The branch began rehoming dogs on 21st January 2008 and still going strong!! All the members
of the branch are volunteers and have worked with a number of greyhound charities in the past
and have been very active in the re-homing and welfare of these wonderful animals. We decided
to put all of our experience together to form the North West Retired Greyhound Trust
(NWRGT)

150 dogs re-homed!! We are just celebrating re-homing our 150th dog since the branch opened in January 08. As with any rescue centre, dogs do come back in after being re-homed as the placement has not worked out for a variety of reasons. Fortunately, they do find new homes but we do not count this 2nd re-homing into our figures (which often happens). This means we have successfully placed and re-homed 150 individual dogs into their permanent forever homes!! Thanks to everyone involved who made this possible!! |
